Those Celebrity Names Wouldn’t Even Do

It was just merely a story about how a virus could grow and how it could be cured. Nothing special…. except for the long list of A-listers who signed up for the film.

I had some high hopes for the film because the storyline seems interesting, but I kind of expected it to be a possible let-down, because that’s always how it is: a film with A-listers ending up awful (Valentines Day 2010, New Year’s Eve 2011, etc).

Why did the film let me down?
1. There’s just too many characters that didn’t really helped in developing the other characters or the story itself or whatever the message they want to portray. It would’ve been better if they just focused on Fishburne’s and Damon’s storylines they might’ve even given those stories more depth making us more attached and more relating.
2. As I already implied - it lacked the “grabbing factor”. I know it wants to give out some sort of a message. Cliches like how humans can go berserk and uncivilized to save their own assess, how politics and self-preservation of the higher people can kill millions,  basically what and how we can be during a time of crisis. It’s a cliche storyline that never gets old because of how real it is and could be but the way this film delivered it was a let down. There weren’t enough moments to really savor these messages. I wasn’t moved by anything or wasn’t even affected by the brutality of humans as shown in the film. It was just like watching a movie - nothing else.

It was a sad disappointment for it really has amazing actors in it, the way the story was told was just really bland and it’s just not powerful enough - mostly because you have to think of a lot of things and you wouldn’t be able to focus (mostly because of the abundance of actors, hence characters).

But with all that said here’s one thing I loved from the film - the way they showed the beginning of it all - but even that was a let down.
