Three… Extremes
>three very different countries, different styles, different types of horror
Dumplings, directed by Fruit Chan (Hong Kong)
>the most realistic of the three, per se, it thrives on psychotic and sick type of horror that was magnified but the realistic attack of Chan and the actors. Talk about eating a dead baby to be younger.
Cut, directed by Park Chan-wook (South Korea)
>the weirdest and quirkiest of all. It’s like SAW on psychedelic drugs. This one makes no sense to me - being punished for being good then throwing in some “supposed to be funny” moments.
Box, directed by Takashi Miike (Japan)
>the most complicated of the three. This one revolves around the idea of a dream. This one makes no sense to me as well because I can’t understand it and I don’t want to even try. It’s very mellow and has the least gore and hardcore scare.
Over-all these shorts are quite cool, but for an avid horror fan like myself it’s really nothing new.
