The Red Shoes 1948

This movie is a real feast for the eyes. It is visually stunning with the sets, costumes, make-up, colors used, but most specially, all the dances are phenomenal.
It may just be my most favorite dance movie so far!
The film is basically about dance, passion, love and jealousy, and the red shoes. I actually believe the movie should be 3 hours long (and I wouldn’t mind at all). Only because I feel like one of the film’s down side is that the characters weren’t able to progress, grow or build-up properly, specially the romances because that’s quite essential in the movie. But even though this is the case, I actually fell in love with the characters and how their stories intertwine.

This is a movie about ballet that actually showcases real ballet. 60 years after its release and it’s still such a beautiful movie.
A great classic. Must-see.
